Dr Elizabeth Short is a clinical and a community psychologist with more than 30 years’ experience working with people to resolve and overcome difficulties and to promote mental health and well-being. Elizabeth provides high quality psychological services to support and benefit patients and families affected by cancer. She has a warm, respectful, and flexible approach.
Elizabeth focuses on person-centred care, utilising a holistic biopsychosocial framework, using the latest evidence-based therapeutic approaches. She can assist with enhancing relationships and life satisfaction, managing distress and anxiety, dealing with loss or grief, managing pain, improving sleep, and supporting positive health and life-enhancing actions.
In addition to the highest level of qualification in clinical psychology, Elizabeth has post-graduate training in family therapy. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), a Fellow of the APS’ College of Clinical Psychologists and College of Community Psychologists, a specialist supervisor with both APS Colleges, and an endorsed Clinical and Community psychologist and supervisor in both specialities with AHPRA. Elizabeth has taught at The University of Melbourne, Swinburne University, and Victoria University.
